Advice for Hill WalkingNWMRT-GA2024-02-07T09:10:39+00:00
If you are thinking of going walking in the hills, or indeed any potentially dangerous or hostile territory, you need to plan your journey and make sure you have all you need and have preparations in place, in case something goes wrong.
This guide should help you to consider and plan your trip, but it does not take the place of proper training in hill-going skills, such as First Aid and Navigation, with organisations or through the many courses that are available throughout the country with e.g. recognised hill-walking groups, Scouts, Guides, Schools, Outdoor Pursuit Centres or Duke of Edinburgh Schemes and there are many more.
In the meantime, please feel free to download these and then you can print them out, back to back, laminate the sheet and fold it over, so that you can carry it round with you every time you need to check before you head for the hills.
