For two days over the weekend…some of our new Probationers were put through their paces in getting their qualification for Rescue and Emergency Care Level 3 (REC 3) which allows them now to treat casualties in Call-Out situations. Before this they could only assist in such circumstances. Now they will be expected, if needed, to carry out first aid techniques, including CPR and AED (defibrillator) operations , shock, allergy, fracture and bleeding treatments. It is an intense experience. There is a lot to take in and learn and it requires a lot of effort and concentration…so it is no small measure to complete this course and congratulations go out to them, from all of their colleagues in NWMRT.
