For the 4th day in a row NWMRT members were tasked by the PSNI to assist Health and Care Staff and their patients in difficult weather conditions. This time though, it was for the Northern Health and Social Care Trust.
Two care workers were stranded by the difficult snow conditions which still exist in the northern part of Northern Ireland and so two of our 4 x 4’s (one of which was a Landrover Defender and the other was one of our new Hilux vehicles), were dispatched to help them reach their patients in desperate need of care.
In an operation which took over 10 hours, the two teams ferried the care workers in what were sometimes very “testing” driving conditions….but we are happy to say that both of them proved well up for the task.
It is especially important that these new vehicles (the 3 of which were provided thanks to funding from the Department of Justice) are put through their paces..and these current conditions are perfect for that.
